Property Law

Buying or selling a property in Tasmania.

Residential, commercial, off-the-plan, subdivisions, transfers between family members. Conveyancing done by lawyers, with a conveyancing assistant supporting the work end-to-end. Most settlements move through the firm without you setting foot in the office.

What we do.

The day-to-day work of property law is unspectacular and it should be — you want it done correctly, on time, and without surprises. Our role is to make sure the contract you sign protects you, the cooling-off period is observed, the searches are properly conducted, and settlement happens on the day it's meant to.

We can help you with

How fees work.

We provide a fixed-fee quote up front for most residential conveyancing matters, with disbursements (searches, stamp duty, registration fees) itemised separately so there are no surprises at settlement.

Who you'll deal with.

Most property matters at the firm are run by Richard Griggs, supported by our conveyancing assistant Mel Karpinskyj. Family-property transfers in the context of separation are run by the family-law team.

The lawyers who'll act for you.
